In the heart of autumn, the riverbed transforms into a silver sea, where every plume of grass dances with the wind. This quiet, flowing motion evokes the vast, poetic spirit of Taiwan’s autumn, revealing the ephemeral beauty of the season’s passage.
Yushan is the most representative mountain of Taiwan, known for its towering peaks, majestic and imposing presence, and commanding the landscape. Viewed from the northeast, it exudes the dignity and grandeur of a king. I recall that when I first started learning to paint, my teacher assigned us to create a painting of Yushan’s winter scenery, and this work is my second painting with Yushan as the subject. The texture of the painting is built up layer by layer from the leftover paint that my classmates left behind after studio sessions. In winter, Yushan is covered in snow, resembling a northern wonderland. I intentionally added a warm-colored cloud in the sky to depict Yushan as a guardian, protecting Taiwan like a mother watches over this treasured island.

Floating Tea Realms is my attempt to capture the essence of tea through painting. I do not depict teapots or leaves, but rather allow the fragrance to transform into flowing color—drifting, circling on the canvas, forming a presence that is unseen yet deeply felt.
With tea instead of wine, and painting instead of words, I offer friendship. I invite you to step into this quiet realm of painted fragrance, and feel the resonance that exists between tea and the soul.

Kind and Evil
The black hat dance in the painting is one of the most important Tibetan Cham dances in Vajrayana Buddhism in Bhutan and the Himalayas. It is a ritual with profound religious meanings and originated in Tibet. The story of Zampulang Dama’s extermination of the Buddha in the late eighth century.
Each rotation represents a cycle between good and evil, just like our choice between good and evil, one thought of heaven and one thought of hell.
(Energy Symphony ) 233x91cm (2panels)/2024/Acrylic on Canvas
Energy Symphony My inspiration comes from NASA’s space exploration videos. NASA has developed a tool that can capture the sounds of the universe, sounds that we usually cannot hear. Through special audio adjustments, these sounds can be converted to audible frequencies. Thus, I transformed the sounds of the universe into visual form, creating this series of works titled “Energy Symphony."
Combining traditional Bhutanese prayers with the primordial sound of the universe, OM, which is a part of many mantras in Buddhism, symbolizing wholeness, perfection, and infinity. This powerful Buddhist mantra is believed to transform negative energy into positive. The pearl in the painting symbolizes the OM mantra, which I, as an artist, offer to the universe. The three crystals in the painting represent body, speech, and mind. I hope that every viewer who sees this work can connect with the energy of the universe and heal themselves.
I was born in Mongar, Bhutan and learn art by myself. Buddhism raised our unique philosophy for life: Buddhism is philosophy; philosophy is art; art is life. Different from traditional Thangka, I use mainly oil paints, acrylics and mixed media for my works, exploring the dialogue between natural elements and mind. Through paintings, I hope to convey Bhutanese culture and the power of pure heart to share Kindness.
Since 2010, My art works have been exhibited in many countries in Europe and Asia and luckily many of them been collected in the headquarter of UNESCO in Paris, South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation and also by many art collectors worldwide.
In 2012, for the first time, I came to Tainan, Taiwan to have my Solo exhibition, and from that moment started my deep relation with Taiwan. Through art residence projects, I tried to find my relation with each place and search for inspiration. Through life in different places of art residency, I found my soul was enriched. Through the presentation of art, I want to explore and create the unlimited possibilities.
I feel grateful that with both the blessings from Buddha and support from my family and friends, I can devote myself in art exploration and step on the journey unafraid. Looking forward to meeting you in art world.

This painting, through its unique shades of lines and composition, expresses an unfathomable future that makes one feel lost at first glance
My personal definition of abstract art is to experience the artistic conception and feeling, rather than the image of the body. The elements that create this painting use simple lines and textures to express emotion, and different colors to represent the natural atmosphere of the painting. I use color to express the artistic conception in abstract art, so I choose warm colors, yellow, red and orange to express vitality, enthusiasm and sunshine. I also use cold colors, blue, purple and white to express the sky or other native colors to present the colorful earth and sky. The creative concept of this abstract painting is a field full of artistic conception, emotion, and freedom with infinite possibilities.

Ship sailing is a kind of drift of the mind. Imagine sailing on the magnificent sea, full of unexpected unknown journey, just like painting on the road, there are setbacks and adventures, there are sweet fruits. In terms of modeling, through semi-representational and image expression, between similarity and dissimilarity, viewers can generate more imagination from the existing images. In terms of color, they can put aside the inherent colors to build a new visual impact on the picture.

Painting is my meditation. From painting learn the philosophy of life which is simple or complex, can be gained or giving up, and embracing the imperfection.
The midsummer sun burns bright and fierce, and the tall trees, full of life, seem to sway in harmony, bathing everything in a golden glow. Sunlight dances on green leaves, a soft breeze stirs the air, and memories gently drift—every summer, the forest in my heart comes alive again. The countless faces of the woods are endlessly captivating, but beyond their beauty lies something deeper: a quiet gratitude for the passing of time and the tender moments of life. [Golden Impressions] For the warmth of cherished memories.
The Diamond Sutra says: “All conditioned phenomena are like a dream, an illusion, a bubble, a shadow; like dew or a flash of lightning—thus should you perceive them." Life is fleeting, like an illusion, a bubble, a shadow, or dew; the splendor of blooming flowers is but a mirage, and one should not lose oneself in gains and losses. Through observation and awakening, we learn wisdom in everyday life and glimpse truth through art, finding ease and serenity, with freedom as our constant companion.

2024 oil on canvas
Blooming with Insight
The Diamond Sutra says: “All conditioned phenomena are like dreams, illusions, bubbles, and shadows; like dew and lightning. Thus should you view them."
Life is fleeting, like illusions, bubbles, shadows, and dew—short-lived and impermanent. We must learn to turn inward, see through appearances, and let go of attachments. Do not be confused by transient external things, nor lose yourself in the pursuit of gain or loss. Through observation and awakening, we can explore true inner peace and freedom.
Just as “when flowers bloom, the Buddha is revealed; observe the mind, and be free," we gain wisdom in life, perceive truth in art, and experience calmness and ease, accompanied by inner freedom.
Time flies by quickly. I had intended to move through my days gracefully, but in reality, I’ve been like a busy little ant, scurrying through the hustle and bustle of work and life. My leisurely walk through the woods has yet to take place, and the days have already passed the romantic vernal equinox and the Xiaoman solar term, swiftly arriving at the blazing heat of the summer solstice.
Amidst the clamor, the “Dream Forest" quietly emerges, with tall trees, swaying green leaves, and dappled sunlight, creating an illusion of dreamlike beauty. This serene place seems to whisper that “leisurely time comes from a calm mind." When weary, take a moment to rest, silently and gently accompanied. It also hopes that viewers can find a moment of tranquility amidst the busy times, experience the beauty of the present, and find their own inner forest.
“Passion" uses the imagery of the sunset and abstract forms to express the passion within the heart. Although the sunset will eventually fade, if the atmosphere of the moment is kept in the heart, the moment becomes eternal. By conversing with the painting, I remind myself to “seize the moment amidst the interplay of reality and illusion."
The inspiration for this piece also draws from the philosophy of artist Mark Rothko, who believed in “expressing complex ideas through simple forms." I remember the first time I saw his work; although the paintings were composed of simple color blocks without intricate lines or elaborate scenes, they left a profound impact on me. The complexity within simplicity led me into the vast realm of art. Never forget the original intention, and continue to pursue the true, the good, and the beautiful in life.
